Spring Into Coding

CS4DLH (Computer Science for Duluth) is building bridges for area students, families, and educators to computer science education. During May 2022, Duluth teachers, students, and families across the district will be learning about computer science through fun, hands-on activities. The Spring Into Coding event and activities are supported through a grant from Infosys Foundation USA. 

Elementary Family Code Week (May 9th - 13th)

Partnering with CS is Elementary and Mayor Emily Larson, elementary students and families will be able to participate in fun activities to learn computer science at home. A different activity will be available each day:

Events on Monday and Tuesday will be livestreamed on YouTube so that families across the city can join. To join, Monday's Family Code Night, sign up at bit.ly/DuluthFCN22. The link for Tuesday's book reading will be added the day of the event. 

All students will receive sign up information and a packet of materials sent home through elementary schools. Middle and High School Activities (May 16th - 20th)

Middle and high school students will be learning about computer science in their math and science courses, including an opportunity to connect with a local tech professional. Students who participate in out of school programs such as Boys and Girls Club will also have an opportunity to explore hands-on computer science learning in those programs.
